【摘要】:1.1Purity-Thisspecificationcoversrequirementsforelectrodepositedpalladiumcoatingscontainingatleast99.7mass%ofpalladiummetal.1.2Properties-Palladiumisthelightestandleastnobleoftheplatinumgroupmetals.Ithasaspecificgravityof12.0,whichissubstantiallylessthangold(19.3)andplatinum(21.5).Thisyieldsagreatervolumeorthicknessofcoatingand,consequently,somesavingofmetalweightaccompaniedbyasmallsacrificeincorrosionresistanceandreflectivity.Thehardnessrangeofelectrodepositedpalladiumcomparesfavorablywiththeotherelectroplatednoblemetalsandtheiralloys.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsarethepreferredvalues.Valuesprovidedinparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.4Thefollowinghazardscaveatpertainsonlytothetestmethodssectionofthisspecification:Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
