【摘要】:Bitumencontainssulfurcompoundsmostofwhichareremovedduringrefining,theresultingasphaltcementalsocontainssulfurcompoundswhicharereleasedatthetemperaturesabove230x00B0;C(446x00B0;F).TrinidadLakeModifiedAsphaltcontainssulfurcompounds,whicharereleasedatlowertemperaturesbetween170x00B0;C(338x00B0;F)and230x00B0;C(446x00B0;F).ThereleaseofsulfurfromTrinidadLakeModifiedAsphalttarnishesthecopperstripandappearstoberelateddirectlytothetotalTLAcontent.ThecopperstriptestisdesignedtoassessthequalitativepresenceofTLAinasphaltcements.1.1ThispracticeshallbeusedforthequalitativedeterminationofTrinidadLakeAsphaltinTrinidadLakeModifiedAsphaltCementsobtainedfromproductionblendsorrecoveredbinderfromasphaltpavingmixtures.1.2ItislimitedtothebindercontentofTrinidadLakeModifiedAsphalt(SpecificationD5710)usedintheconstructionofasphaltpavements.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
